Enerdel Company
Company
EnerDel was formed in 2004 through a collaboration of industry leaders: Ener1, Delphi Corporation and Itochu Corporation. In 2006 the company won support from the US Advanced Battery Consortium, Argonne National Laboratory, and others. Since then EnerDel has continued to gain commercial success in terms of its technology with respect to PHEV and EV batteries. Our team consists of luminaries from the scientific research community as well as the lithium-ion battery and automotive industries, providing more than 300 years of combined experience in lithium-ion cell manufacturing and engineering.
With the support and commitment of our shareholders and with the collaboration of our strategic partners we have developed leading battery technology and systems, and are establishing the manufacturing base for our technology. We have created advanced lithium-ion batteries that are long-lasting and safe, with high power and high energy characteristics, all essential for products to be used in the demanding automotive market.
In addition to the solutions for the automotive industry, our lithium-ion battery chemistries and technology offer advantages beyond the automotive sector, with applications in energy infrastructure, renewable energy applications, military, aerospace, industrial, and other growing markets.
We manufacture our cells in Indianapolis, in a 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. We also have the ability to provide more cells through Enertech International, the Ener1 subsidiary in South Korea. Our battery packs are assembled only 10 minutes away from Indianapolis, in our 35,000-square-foot Noblesville facility, through a highly automated process. By serving as a local supplier of advanced performance batteries, we intend to contribute to the success of the global automotive companies who manufacture HEVs, PHEVs, and EVs, while propelling the revitalization of the US domestic automobile industry.
The heart of our operations is our team of cell chemists, electronic, mechanical and software engineers, technicians, system integrators, and support staff, who hail from different parts of the world and bring distinct perspectives, extensive expertise, and a shared sense of drive and optimism.
